Headed up Old Bridle for pre-dusk arrival at Greenleaf. Spent the night in a full hose of lively hikers. On trail by 7:30 AM and spent a great day above treeline on the ridge. Started down Falling Waters around noon. Upper 1/2 mile still had plenty of sticky snow and rapidly melting ice. Footing was a bit tricky in places but did it without traction. Some folks would no doubt prefer some traction. No snow/ice on ridge now. Decent views in all directions with just a thin cloud cover most of the day. We were off trail before the afternoon showers moved in. |
