Comments: PLEASE STAY OFF CARDIGAN TRAILS FOR AT LEAST TEN DAYS IF THE WEATHER STAYS DRY.

We found 60+ cars on arriving at West Ridge Trail. Three days rain/snow has turned the calendar back at least a month. Long stretches of mud, heavy foot traffic, considerable widening. We cleaned the drains this Spring and they were working, but what these trails need is a rest. No amount of trailwork this side of paving it all can keep an earthen footpath dry after rains, and 80+ percent of the walkers today were tourists in street shoes who avoid mud that hikers go through.
