Hiking Trail Conditions Report

Peaks Mt. Cube, NH
Trails
Trails: Baker Road, Quinntown Road, Kodak Trail, Cross Rivendell Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, June 9, 2013
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked where the Cross Rivendell trail crosses Baker Road. Getting from there to Quinntown Road isn't that tricky; just don't be fooled by any of the left turns- not even the third, where what looks like a much better road turns uphill and the actual trail goes straight ahead and deteriorates a little.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The usual spring windfalls on the AT, but none cause any problems; and there are only a couple with paths mysteriously growing around them. There was a volunteer working on the drainage in a few spots. It's a little damp after all the rai this week, but in good shape for te upcoming through-hiker season.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Would've been fine, but the kids stayed home today.
Bugs
Bugs: None.

Comments
Comments: This is a really nice, little-used loop. Not quite eight miles; about 2500 vertical feet; just about four hours including a nice break on the summit; and great views south and west along the AT.
