Comments: For the ascent, I used the Cherry Mountain Trail (east side), i.e. the one that begins at the trailhead on Cherry Mountain Road. Martha's Mile was used to hike between Mt. Martha and Owl's Head. And for the descent, I used the Cherry Mountain Trail (west side), i.e. the one with the trailhead on Rt. 115.

In order to hike both the east and west side of the Cherry Mountain Trail, arrangements were made to be left off on Cherry Mountain Road, and picked up on Rt. 115.

Regarding the EAST SIDE of the Cherry Mountain Trail, there are occasional muddy spots for about the first 1.5 miles of the trail. Despite that, the footway is generally smooth and a pleasure to walk on. There were no blowdowns. There are no brook crossings on this trail.

Regarding the WEST SIDE of the Cherry Mountain Trail, this trail also was in good shape. There was one minor "workaround" blowdown near the top of the trail.

Regarding Martha's Mile, this trail was in good shape.
