|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots of blowdowns on Nancy Pond Trail. One blowdown just past Carrigan Notch Trail junction we had to crawl on our stomachs to get under. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
We saw one dog and he growled at us. Owner didn't understand because he nevers does that to anyone. Funny how everyone says that. |
|
| Bugs: |
They were out for blood today. Lucky me the cheetah wore his concrete galoshes today so he lost the most. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
The cheetah lost a lot of blood and I almost lost a thumbnail. |

Decided to car spot and go the long way round. Signal Ridge Trail was in excellent shape. We were never on the reroute before so that was interesting. We headed down Desolation Trail and that was very pleasant. It was tight coming off Carrigan and then got steep until about 3700feet. From there down to the junction with Carrigan Notch Trail was an enjoyable hike. Nancy Pond Trail is a mess. Between blowdowns and her affair with Irene there is a lot of trail mantainence needed. The bushwhack up to Nancy was easy to follow and steep. We are glad we did Nancy last instead of our original plan to do Nancy first then Carrigan.
Good day out with the cheetah. Probably last big hike for him as he is adding to the family. 17 miles, 5300feet of elevation gain and a little redline on the map makes for a good Saturday afternoon. Not too many people on Nancy Pond Trail so we got to enjoy the falls and the pond views to ourselves. |
