Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None of consequence
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All in great shape though between Webster and Jackson a pair of bog bridges are now sunk into to mud and water
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots of steep ledges on Webster Cliff below summit - hand over hand in places - below Mount Webster will pose a challenge for many canines so probably not the best trail for the canines, no water from first outlook on Webster cliff to summit but lots of drinking spots o the rest of the loop. Saw several canines on Webster and Jackson.
Bugs
Bugs: Wind kept them at bay on summits but out in force everywhere else - Deet a must - had to apply numerous times and still they got through!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: One glove at the top of Jackson - left there

Comments
Comments: A amazing day with unbelievable views - perhaps one of my top ten hikes. Thanks to my impromptu hiking partner Kevin who kept me motivated. Felt sorry for those not out today! While steep with any number of hand over hand rock scrambles I think Webster Cliff heading up to the summit is now one of my favorite trails - once you hit the ridge line viewpoint after viewpoint that only get better - but be prepared for some serious rock scrambling. Webster Cliff below Mt Webster - a patch of mud here and there, a few wet ledges down low with one tricky spot. Between Webster and Jackson - many patches of mud with stretches of running water - same after Jackson heading to Mizpah. Mizpah cutoff much of the same. Crawford path down from cutoff had a fair amount of running water in stretches. Until things dry out boots will get wet and muddy! Was passed by 2 SAR on Crawford heading up to help an injured hiker who was above Mizpah cutoff/Crawford junction. Hope all turns out well.
