Counterclockwise on this loop today. The east side up this loop follows the beautiful Whiteface river for a while then turns off and head west for the pond. Great trail. Camped at a backwoods tent site on the peninsula on flat mt. Pond found by Nhithiker. Dinner and fun for the nite with Scott, Rachel ,heather &kali. Having a late start we hiked over to the shelter which was kept nice. Glad they didn't take this shelter out. We continued on to the Bennett st trail to see wonderful waterfalls as this trail follows the river most of the way back to the Bennett st parking area. Thanks for a great camping trip heather&kali, hnithiker and Rachel . |
