 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
On the Old Summer Club Trail a little west of the Victor Head Side Path, there is an unmarked junction in a sandy field - I took the right fork (I was northbound) at first, but, there were no blazes... After 15 minutes I turned around to go the other way and eventually found a blaze - that is a very confusing area - make sure you have navigational aids!!!! Also, the Percy Loop Trail is not marked coming off the North Percy spur - there is just a little "CT" - Cohos Trail sign to the left as you come off the peak. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
plenty of water!!!!! |
|
 | Bugs: |
The trails near Bald Mountain were horrifically buggy - probably because of all the swampy areas. I used DEET and reapplied all morning!!!! |

 | Comments: |
I did this as a bike spot - left my bike at the Percy Loop Trailhead and started hiking up on the Bald Mtn Notch Trail - worked pretty well - return by bike only took an hour and brought me past many scenic areas!!!! Victor Head had a very cool outlook - got a good look at the Percy Peaks! Only saw one group all morning - they were on N Percy. Good visibility; pretty trails!!! Lots of nice old-fashioned logging roads in there - pretty neat!!!! |
