| Dog-Related Notes: |
Dogs not allowed on any Monadnock Trails although on the way down the White Dot Trail we saw a woman going up with a medium size dog on a leash, and, not far behind her a Park Ranger. I'm sorry, but why does one have to break the rules (I have two dogs myself). I'll bet she ended up having to carry that poor dog back down the trail. |

I have always wanted to hike up the Spellman Trail and it was not a disappointment. Very steep and lots of scrambles on the ledges. We were the only group on it which was even better. It is not recommended to descend this trail and now I know why. It is definitely my new favorite way to reach the summit. Going down the White Dot, however, is a usual "traffice jam" of people which is definitely not enjoyed.
Nice way to finish the day by driving over to the 101 side of Dublin Lake and finding a great spot to take a swim in the nice clean water!!! Lots of fun!!
