| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Road in good condition. Couple "teeny tiny cars" parked in cul-de-sac and "giant bus" on its way in at 9:00. Didn't see any "CRUSHED" cars at 1:00 but the bus was where the 2 cars were previously. Plenty of space along side of road today. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All bridged on this loop. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in great shape. Not sure if Wales Carter will be permanent reroute for section damaged on Gorge Brook; but if it is the DOC has done an exceptional job on this short reroute and it's definitely worthy of being part of a main route for Moosilauke. Nice job! |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Nice loop for dogs. May need water up higher in drier conditions. |
| Bugs: |
Almost bug free today; just an occaisional fly. |
| Lost and Found: |
Couple shirts hanging on sign for Wales Carter still there on descent. Nice large retractable dog leash at summit; may be useful to someone lacking one at the summit. |

| Comments: |
Almost missed the rain. 1\2 hour earlier start and I probably would have. 30 minute downpour; so needless to state I was wet when getting back to car. Could have reported dry trails overall but the downpour had the Snapper Tr. looking like a long waterbar. Imagine nice dry trails I was on earlier were equally as wet. Par for this summer. Caught some views in and out of clouds. Very nice loop. Short, gradual elevation gains, nice grades and views. Quick trail as Dartmouth Ski team was proving with their 40+\- minute climbs. Other than their group of about 15 the trails were fairly quiet. |
