Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |

|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Normal crossings are all easily rock-hoppable. Part of Guinea Pond Trail has become a swamp, however...see below. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few blowdowns on Mead Trail, tons of brushing needed on Guinea Pond Trail. About a hundred yards of the Guinea Pond Trail (a couple tenths of a mile before the intersection with Mead Trail) is currently a swamp. Need to plunge right in...forget about keeping the boots and socks dry. Try not to step on the many frogs. Ankle-to-calf deep water. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Plenty of water (and mud!) for dogs. Max had a blast. |
|
| Bugs: |
Not too bad. Had one persistent deer fly follow me until I managed to kill it. |

| Comments: |
Beautiful area. I love redlining -- always fun to explore new-to-me trails.
Saw two kind gentleman who were on their way up Mead Trail as we were descending. Other than them, we had the trails and summit to ourselves. This is why I love redlining on Mondays...no crowds, ever.
Gorgeous views from up top. |
