Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, August 24, 2013
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking at Lincoln Woods in the early AM, fairly full on my return.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Easy hops today, stepping stones a-plenty.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Not much to report really. The standard step-overs in the wilderness areas, and some areas of mud throughout. Rotting bog bridging on Desolation, and it doesn't look like many of the drainages are functioning. The trail is in good shape considering.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one on Carrigain, always wanting to go explore off the tower, much to his owners chagrin. One husky later in the day on East Side Trail.
Bugs
Bugs: None to speak of in the morning, then somewhat bothersome in the afternoon.

Comments
Comments: There's the standard out and back of Carrigain, then there's this, the 12 mile one way version. Got in a lot of solitude, not seeing anyone from the Wilderness boundary until the summit of Carrigain. A quiet day in the Pemi lowlands, doing some redlining.

Blog post soon.
