Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: i drove up an unmarked logging road to the east off perry stream road at about 7.8 miles from rt. 3. though not signed there is a gate, that was open, just up the road marked as gate 126. the road was pretty decent though it had some major washouts on a couple uphills. previous drivers had gone around them and the road has shifted onto its shoulder in a couple spots allowing passage with care. i did lose my nerve at about 1 mile when i finally got to a place i could pull off and park. in retrsopect i could have continued to where i started my bushwack about .5 farther up the road.

Comments
Comments: i walked the road to a point where the summit was almost due east and headed in on an old skidder road to start then through a series of mixed woods and old roads towards the ridgeline. i ended up getting pulled south and after a steep ascent through open woods hit the ridge in a sag well south of the highpoint. this is where things got interesting as the woods from there to the summit were quite dastardly with thick fir/spruce, rocky footing and rotten blowdown. pretty slow going up to the highpoint. descending i headed down from the summit on a direct bearing through much better woods with some nasty bits eventually getting back in the series of old roads i crossed on the ascent and from there headed back to the logging road.

a pretty walk up the road with some great views turned into a pretty difficult bushwack up high. a good way to wrap up a great day up north.
