Hiking Trail Conditions Report |

Mt. Cardigan, Firescrew, NH |
| Trails: |
Holt Trail, Holt-Clark Cutoff (Cathedral Forest Trail), Clark Trail, Mowglis Trail, Manning Trail |
| Date of Hike: |
Sunday, September 29, 2013 |
| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking at the AMC Cardigan Lodge. (We wait until about 1:00 or 2:00 pm to arrive, and what was once a full lot starts to open up a bit. By the time we finish, the lot is almost completely empty.) |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Not an issue. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few small cairns on the Manning Trail within the first 0.2 miles of the Mowglis Trail have been tipped over and (may) require re-building.
Trails are in excellent shape -- waterbars clear, no blowdowns, erosion is at a minimum, and there appears to be some (fine) new rock work on the Manning Trail to address a previously eroded section. These trails receive a good amount of attention, and it shows. |
