|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Cardigan, Firescrew, NH|
||Holt Trail, Holt-Clark Cutoff (Cathedral Forest Trail), Clark Trail, Mowglis Trail, Manning Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Sunday, September 29, 2013|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Plenty of parking at the AMC Cardigan Lodge. (We wait until about 1:00 or 2:00 pm to arrive, and what was once a full lot starts to open up a bit. By the time we finish, the lot is almost completely empty.) |
||Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||Not an issue. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||A few small cairns on the Manning Trail within the first 0.2 miles of the Mowglis Trail have been tipped over and (may) require re-building.
Trails are in excellent shape -- waterbars clear, no blowdowns, erosion is at a minimum, and there appears to be some (fine) new rock work on the Manning Trail to address a previously eroded section. These trails receive a good amount of attention, and it shows.
||None to be seen. |
|Lost and Found:
||Always a lovely loop. |
||Pancks and Tesco Heaney |
