Bridle Path dry and easy ascent to the hut which was open with all kinds of goodies. Ascended into the clouds around 4700 feet with a little breeze. Breezey in the fog on Lafayette and we kept moving hoping to drop below the cloud line. Hundreds of people on the ridge including an organized party on top of Lincoln that must have had 50 people. Kept moving some scattered views to Owls Head and the notch. Another crowd on Haystack. We stopped for lunch just before the steep spot where there were some decent views and we were soon greeted by Pam. Trail over to Liberty had a few brushy spots but very good footing. Bypassed Liberty and headed right to Flume to keep momentum going and were there in a flash. Best views of the day there, very nice. Descent on Liberty Springs Trail and the herd path was excellent with peak foliage in the hardwood zone. Gorgeous day. Thanks Valerie for a good day out |
