Comments
Comments: Trail is basically snow free all the way to to South Moat except a few small patches that are easily crossed. There is running water on the trail right near the trail head which is an inch or so deep and muddy which you pretty much have to go through so useful to have waterproof boots but it is only about 50 yards or so. Beyond, dry trail almost all the way to summit with a few wet spots and minor patches of snow - One area to watch - on the ledges at 2000 feet - cossing the ledges watch your footing as parts of the rock are very slick - especially where you have to cross the stream - you can pick your way through on dry rock with a little attention. A few patches of snow especially right below the summit but all easily crossed - most are in exposed sun so may melt over the weekend. Spoke with a gentleman who took trail all the way to North Moat and he said that the snow on this stretch was rotten and even with snowshoes he was was postholing.
