Great day for a hike. Clouds were passing over the summit but not blocking the view. Had great views to the east and west although the Franconia Ridge was shrouded in clouds. Windy and cold on the summit. Layer up before you leave the tree line.
Due to rain the day before, the trail is actually more treacherous at the lower elevations because of ice. Once you get into the snow then the traction is better. Some drifts near the summit. I made the entire hike without my Micro-spikes but I would highly recommend them. |
