Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Drakes Brook was not passable without getting wet. We crossed at Rt 49 the first time and bushwhacked to the trail. The return on Drakes Brook Trail was deep. Had to bushwhack down along the bank until we were close enough to just get the feet wet. Ran back to the car.

Comments
Comments: We made the hike with only some yak traks but I would not recommend the descent of Sandwhich mtn trail. Lots of ice on the steep rocks. We were able to scramble up knowing the return via Drakes would be ok. The problem is the Drakes Brook is pretty high right now and without good waterproof boots you're going to get wet. We only had mountain running sneakers so we had to wait to cross. Drakes brook had mostly snow on it while Sandwhich mountain trail was mostly ice. The trail up to Jennings Peak only had one small tough section. Great views...Pretty cold. Sandwhich dome looked frosty so we called it a day and headed back down. Great day , saw only two other people on the trail.
