| Comments: |
Used microspikes all the way. Snowshoes not needed. 2 to 3 inches of snow over a crusty base of several inches which generally held my weight. A few short sections of small drifts were hard packed. The brook was mostly bridged and not too difficult. Used the Banana trail coming down, and the steep sections had blue ice flows. I navigated around most of them, but they were covered with the recent snow and a bit tricky. Saw where a moose had hit a long flow and had gone sprawling down it for about 100 feet. Leg and body marks shooting in all directions. Wish I could have seen that. |
