Chris and I headed out to bag three carters in the frigid temps. I had a hard time finding the right amount of layers to work for me today. Ended up with hand and foot warmers and everything in my pack on. Face mask, buff, hat shell hood, the whole nine yards. Once I had a bite and some hot cocoa after the Dome we were good to go again. We broke out the Carter Dome Trail, C-M to the Dome and across the carters. Chris wore tails on his snow shoes (if that is any indication of the snow depth!). Yet there were still three bare booters on their way up North Carter Trail on our way down. The trail should be in pretty good shape if there are any takers before Thursday's forecasted 4-8 inches in North Conway. Happy New Year! |
