Decided on this for a late day hike on my way home from snowmobiling up north not being able to bag a larger peak. Trail starts about 100 feet up the bike path. I did the loop up and over the mountain since I haven't been on either of these trails before and then walked back up Route 3 to the flume lot. With warmer afternoon temps the snow on the trail was a bit soft. I used microspikes the entire time, but probably could have bare booted. Snowshoes would have keep me from sinking into the snow some been a little less tiring. Mt. Pemi Trail is seeing more traffic than Indian Head Trail |
