Beautiful, albeit cold day in the woods. Barebooted almost to the top of Morgan where microspikes were necessary. Had to bushwhack a small section that was a frozen river of ice. Trail along the ridge was very pleasant and made avoiding the cold winds easier. Mt. Percival trail had some tricky sections while descending the ledges. Traction was very helpful here, even though the microspikes didn't seem like enough in one or two short sections. Again, easing temperatures later in the week should fix this. Snowshoes weren't necessary as the frozen snow supported my weight the entire way. |
