3 blowdowns: one easy step-over, one waist high easy over, one high enough to walk under easily |

lost the snow-basket tip of one of my poles |

| Comments: |
hard pack, started with microspikes and switched to snowshoes after Mt Surprise but it was a short snow drift section only and then back to hard pack so I don't think snow shoes were necessary (but once on I don't bother to take them off). Lots of steep ice, not fun descending in snowshoes and, personally, I think crampons would be far more appropriate for those sections, but I didn't use them and survived my slips and falls. |
