Comments
Comments: Valley way started out with ice then crusty snow ice. all ice flows were soft and easy to negotiate. Trail had dusting increasing to about 4" before hut. Madison summit and Adams summit were exposed rocks and snow covering holes so care had to be taken. Between Adams and Madison hut there was a lot of snow 12" or more in drifts. This was probably the only place you would use snowshoes and then it was too boney for them. We wore hillsounds from car to return to car. Visibility on Adams was not more than 100' but the temps were comfortable and the wind not too bad except for a few gusts below the top. Light snow most of the day and no views but a great day in the mountains.
