No issues with the water crossings. They aren't frozen but are easy to walk through. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Some small stepover blowdowns along different parts of the Valley Way, nothing major. No other trail maintenance issues other than bad drainage this time of year that leads to lots of big ice floes on the trail. |

| Comments: |
Used microspikes on the way up the Valley Way and that worked out just fine, but some might prefer crampons or snowshoes on the ice floes (although they crunched underfoot and were easy to climb). On the way down, we were happy to wear crampons for the majority of the way to make descent quicker.
There isn't much snow on the trail and it's very packed, but underneath is a sometimes very slippery layer of ice |
