| Comments: |
There was a light snow all day so there was minimal visibility, but the trails were all packed down nicely. Snowshoes weren't necessary, but we passed a number of folks using them.
We hiked in on Nineteen Mile Brook Trail and dropped packs at Carter Notch Hut. Then we summited Carter Dome, used Carter Dome Trail to bypass Mt. Hight en route to South Carter, and took the same route back to the hut. Spent the night at the hut, which was pretty crowded given the long holiday weekend.
Fantastic day in the mountains and great conditions. |
