Comments
Comments: Went up Sandwich Mtn trail and below about 3000 feet the trail was a bit of snow on a lot of ice. Combined with the rocky terrain, Hillsound trail pros were a good choice. Tried MSRs on the way up, not enough traction. After the junction with Drakes snowshoes would be OK, but not necessary as the snow is shallow over a well packed base with no postholing. Drakes was very different - decent snow base, little ice, and snowshoes would be great.
