Left the Kanc at 9ish and found that the logging road had not been hiked in a while. Snow pack was good but still had to trudge through about 4-6 inches. Once we hit the actual trail it was nicely packed and well traveled. Hit the first outlook and was greeted by perfectly clear skies. At the ledges we should have put on traction but opted to leave them off since we knew there'd be butt sliding on the way down. Fantastic views at the summit and a few dry spots to sit. I would recommend traction on the way down if you're taking it slow. We slid, slipped and ran all the way down like a couple of kids. Back at the car at 1 pm. Perfect day. |
