Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Jack and Andy had a good time. Coats were required and I used my own mix of musher balm on their paws. Necessary for single digit temps with colder wind Chills. A little "balling" but not bad. A good loop for conditioned dogs. First time down the ski slope in winter which wasn't a problem for the ski area. They just asked I keep them on a line. Jack was petrified by the skiers however.

Comments
Comments: The trails are in very good shape right now. A little ice still on the N.Carter trail but easy to walk up or walk around. Still a few exposed rocks on all trails to watch for despite the recent snowfall. Another winter without a lot of base. Imp and N.Carter are well packed out. The C-M trail from Middle Carter to Zeta pass is also well packed with a few scattered deep drifts that are easily managed. The trail from Zeta to Carter Dome over Hight had a slight trough but not packed. Of course this is not unusual for this stretch of trail that sees a lot of wind and is usually well drifted. Nice to meet Waumbek coming down Dome and thanks for the trail work. Wildcat Ridge is in great shape. The steep has very little ice and is a good snowshoe. No issues coming down the polecat ski trail. My first time coming down the ski trail in the winter and was relieved to know that dogs on the slope are not a problem. Use a line and NO pooping please! Thanks to Bill Cronin for a great hike. Congrates on #362.
