Comments
Comments: Gab, Frank, Math and I were set for a one day presi-traverse to Crawford. Started at 5h30am at Appalachia. Barebotted on monorail with very few snowdrift to plow 4-12in. 8am we were on Madison. Wind around 70mph. T° -10°F. Very difficult to move fast in that wind. After reaching Adam and Jefferson, we finally got on Mount Washington, it was 2pm. Microspike could be useful after Mount Clay. We had them in the pack but the ground was still manageable. Then wind picked up to 90mph, visibility was very poor, less than 100'. We had only 3 hours left of daylight, so sadly we opted for an escape via the auto road. Thanks to the carpenter from AMC at Pickham who gave us a ride back to Appalachia.
