Comments
Comments: Overall, the trail corridor was in good shape from trailhead to summit.

The snowpack on the trail's treadway was so firmly consolidated that snowshoes would be technically unnecessary. However, you might want to consider wearing them anyway to preserve the snowpack integrity, and to avoid turning an ankle by stepping in one of the occasional deep postholes located on the perimeter of the treadway.

At the very least, some type of traction would be highly recommended to traverse the thick ice in the various I-93 underpasses along the early part of the route!
