Suzanne and I barebooted to the stream crossing where the old trail went to Bemis. We use microspikes up to the plateau and then used snowshoes from there to summit of Nancy. We were leaving a few boot tracks and it seemed like a good idea to use the snowshoes rather than carry them. We followed the tracks that led to the end of Norcross Pond and then followed them to the summit. The group that broke this trail really must have worked very hard as it was fairly steep and the snow was deep. Would have liked to have been on the trip to help. It has been 15 years since we had climbed Nancy and we had forgotten that there are some nice views. We also got to see our friends, the boreal chickadees in several places. We had a good day out in the woods. |
