Beautiful day on the ridge. Hardly any wind at all. Barebooted Falling Waters Trail until we got past the water crossings, then put on the microspikes till the summit of Little Haystack. Barebooted all the way to Lafayette. Some members barebooted to the car, others put the spikes back on for the descent. Old Bridle Path was a stable monorail (where there was still snow) but a couple inches of slippery slush on top in the midday sun. Lower half of the trail was dry and made for quick travel. |
