Comments
Comments: At this time of year, conditions can vary widely from day to day. On the day of my hike, the trail was overall in good shape from the trailhead to the top of Mt. Crawford. There was a week-old snowshoe track which was punctuated by more recent postholes created by someone who hiked the trail without the benefit of snowshoes. Apparently, the snow was soft at the time this was done since in some spots the postholes were very deep (like thigh deep!). My outbound and inbound tramping along the trail helped to "heal" many of the postholes.

Following my visit to the summit, I continued eastward on the Davis Path for a few tenths of a mile beyond the Mt. Crawford Spur, and then launched 2 bushwhacks (one leading off the south side of the trail, and one leading off the north side). Sorry if this confuses anyone. And also sorry if this gives anyone false hopes that the Davis Path might be freshly broken out all the way to the Mt. Parker trail and beyond.

Some photos are at my BLOG (see link below).
