Hodgepodge of conditions, but never felt the need to put on my Microspikes.
Piper Mountain Trail was mostly snow free, except for a few small remaining patches of snow/ice in the shade. Some mud in the lower flats. Occasional wet ledge.
Green Trail across ridge to highpoint was snow free and mostly dry.
Old Piper Trail had quite a few lingering patches of snow/ice. Some may feel like putting on Micros (nothing longer than like 50 feet at a time), but I was able to pick my way down slowly without issue.
White Trail was mostly snow free and in good shape.
Carriage Road back down had a few small patches of snow, but otherwise was clear.
If heading to Belknap Mountain in the near future, I'd suggest bringing Micros, as I suspect there's still snow/ice in extended areas on certain trails. |
