The first half of the trail is pretty much dry though there is some mud. When you make the left hand turn on the trail you encounter a pretty solid ice base. We were impressed with how stable it was. Microspikes were very helpful because there were places of 2+ feet of ice flows which were pretty slick with the slight melt on top. The views were incredible - especially the outlook just beyond Waumbek's summit. Great day out! |
