Comments
Comments: Productive day of trail work with the Belknap Range Area Trail Tenders (BRATTs). We ascended via the Mt. Major Trail (blue), which had some areas of mud down low and some wet ledges. No snow or ice.
On the summit, we built 9 cairns and about 50 feet of scree wall to help hikers find their way onto the Straightback-Major Link toward the Brook Trail (there are a bunch of herd paths). Judging by the change in foot traffic between the morning and afternoon, it appears it was a success.
Brook Trail was very muddy above the brook crossings. The flats were fine.
