Hiking Trail Conditions Report
Peaks
Peaks Doublehead Mountain, NH
Trails
Trails: Doublehead Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Monday, May 26, 2014
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked right at the trailhead on Thompson Road. There is room for a couple of carefully parked vehicles. There are no signs saying not to park there, so I figured if I parked off to the side and out of anyone's way, then there shouldn't be an issue. There is also a lot on 113, 0.9 miles down the road.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossings easily rock-hopped.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of slippery leaves covering many of the rocks. Watch your footing.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine trail for dogs. If you park on 113, then you'll walk by many private homes, so bring a leash.
Bugs
Bugs: Not too bad if you keep moving. Mosquitos and black flies and ticks, oh my!
