Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water crossings were do-able; hiking poles were very helpful for some of the bigger ones.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several blowdowns along the way. One was significant and required a minor bushwack around. About a mile and a half up the trail from the trailhead, when you are hiking along the water, part of the trail has eroded and it was a little bit dicey to continue on. If this gets much worse, it may require a bushwack up and around this area, but for now we were able to safely make our way along the thin eroded path. The trail had some slippery rocks/roots/leaves especially in the last 1 - 1 1/2 miles leading up to the summit, which required slow and careful going on the way down. LOTS of moose poop on the upper half of the trail, but did not see a moose! Several trail signs have faded or been knocked down so careful navigation was required at a couple of points.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a couple of dogs on the trail and they looked happy!
Bugs
Bugs: Very minor.
