Met a guy and his daughter who had overnighted at the the Gentian Brook Shelter, heading down the Austin Brook Trail. Otherwise, no people or dogs all day |

Intermittently heavy, esp. mosquitoes at the Austin Brook Trailhead lot and blackflies on the Bald Cap Peak Ledges spur trail. |

The Bald Cap Peak Ledges spur trail is excellent and new - not in the AMC Guide. It is the work of the Shelburne Trails Club. |
