Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The lot of the west side of parkway was full when we arrived, so we created a space. The very large lot on the east side was 3/4 full. When we returned both lots were 1/2 full
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Numerous water crossings on Falling Waters Trail, some were a little tricky, but stayed dry.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No blowdowns, trail was wet due to the rain, although lots of water and mud, nothing major.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: My 10 lb Jack Russell terrier convinced three different people to give her a lift over 3 of the trickier crossings on the Falling Waters Trail, but with a lot of encouragement she was back to her super dog confident self on the last major crossing. Lots of dogs out today.
Bugs
Bugs: No bugs going up or crossing the ridge., With cloud rain and significant wind this was not a surprise. However after Greenleaf Hut on the way down, sun came out and with it the bugs. Don't know what they were, but they all were minding their own business, left us alone.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: nothing

Comments
Comments: We thought it was going to be a sunny day, but it was not. All the peaks were in the clouds, and the wind was cold, horrific, and noisy, pelting cloud rain. We got the White Mountain experience we were not looking for. When we stopped at Greenleaf Hut, the ridge started clearing. However we could still hear the wind howling on top. We might do this one again just to pick up the views we missed.
