| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I drove along Hogan Road and parked across from the hydroelectric dam, as specified in the White Mountain Guide. The trailhead is less than a tenth of a mile up the dirt road from where you park. We walked right by it initially...some locals out for a walk turned us around and showed us the way. The entrance to the trail is directly across from a large sign warning of thin ice on the river. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Some areas here and there need brushing. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Plenty of water opportunities for the pups. |
|
| Bugs: |
Not too bad on the way up, but not so nice on the way down. Mosquitoes and black flies (in spite of our DEET). |

| Comments: |
There were a few sections of boot-sucking mud, otherwise, the trail was dry.
This peak kicked off our 21-peaks-in-7-weeks training period for our John Muir Trail thru-hike in August. I have a trip report on our blog. |
