I started on the Province pond trail to Province Pond. From the pond I bushwhacked to North Gemini. There was a good amount of blowdown and the woods get a little thick. Great views from the top. I then headed to Shaw. There is a cool vernal pool on Shaw, just below the summit on the N Gemini side. From Shaw I made an easy trip to Walter, which is not prominent and did not seem to have a recognized high point. From Walter I took a bearing on Mountain Pond and made my way there pretty easily. I stayed in the shelter. See my next post for this morning’s hike back to CRC. |
