Comments
Comments: We took the Zealand Trail and Ethan Pond Trail to Zealand Notch, then climbed the rockslide to the ledgy area near the summit of Whitewall Mountain. The slide was very steep with lots of loose rocks that made it tricky. Fantastic views from the ledges to the south of the summit. We tried to find the summit canister but were unable to. We wanted to bushwhack down the north slope, which is supposed to be very good hiking, but I think we were about 500 feet too far to the west, and we ended up hiking for over a mile in extremely thick and painful woods until we got back to the Ethan Pond Trail.
