| Water Crossing Notes: |
Royce Trail crossing moderate. Bottom of boots got wet, but no real difficulties. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Huge number of blowdowns on Royce and Basin Rim. Many were problems of one sort or another. One high up on Royce Trail necessitated a substantial bushwhack. It got pretty tedious going around and under them. Some on Basin Rim have been cut by axe recently, but only a small percentage. |

| Bugs: |
Too cold in morning for flies. There were some in afternoon around Basin Pond. |

| Comments: |
Some snow patches on Basin Rim, and a little fresh ice on Royce heading up to West Royce. Snow was solid and easily walked. Never tempted to put on my microspikes. |
