Comments
Comments: Hiking trail was a bit greasy with lots of slippery rock from the humidity. The hiking trail is in dire need of advanced work such as rock waterbars and steps due to continued erosion. Snowmobile trail also has areas of active erosion, as well as a mudbog to contend with.
Unfortunately the summit views are dominated by the Spanish Imposition (Groton Wind), which, despite being one of the higher electricity demands of the summer, was largely idle.
If looking for the Stinson Lake view, when you first hit the ledgy area on the summit, the trail sort of turns left to finish the ascent. The herd path to the view is sort of straight ahead (initially south, then west), maybe a few hundred feet long, leading to a framed view of the lake and Moosilauke.
