Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Paving project posted for this section of Route 11, likely in the next few days. The slope above the Mt. Major parking lot has been partially traprocked and is now posted 'State Property No Trespassing' presumably to prevent further erosion. No impact to parking or hiking trail access.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes: A little high on Brook Trail, but doable on wet rocks.

Trail Maintenance Notes: A few random stepover blowdowns on Mt. Major Trail and just below the Straightback Link junction on the Brook Trail.

Bugs: You can pick up a complimentary deer fly companion at the parking lot, who will accompany you for your entire hike, occasionally introducing you to mosquitoes as well.

Comments: Trails were damp from midafternoon thunderstorm. Storm cleared the trails of people though, so the summit was rather quiet later this afternoon. Blueberries now available.
