Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I don’t think my approach to this peak was the best. After doing Stubs, I took Stub hill road to a grassy road headed towards Diamond Ridge. Near the start of the grassy road, there was a collapsed culvert which I was able to get over by driving up onto the road’s shoulder and going one wheel at a time. I only made it about a hundred years beyond that as the road became very over grown. I parked there. On the way out, I drove back to the culvert, again creeping up on the shoulder to pass. Only this time I used the opposite shoulder. The earth completely gave way leaving my car hanging by the front bumper. One drive wheel (front wheel drive) had almost no contact and the other was in loose dirt. I was totally stuck. I was alone and a had absolutely no cell service. I repeatedly jacked the car up gathering rocks, dirt, and a 4X4 post, essentially rebuilding the road under my car. After 2hrs. of stressful toiling I was able to get out…Be careful.

Comments
Comments: I hadn’t researched this peak at all, but I was in the neighborhood and decided to give it a try. I ended up having to road walk for about 3/4mi. before taking a field bearing on the peak and heading up. The woods were not too bad. When I got to the top, I realized that I had mistakenly taken a field bearing on the south peak. This blunder wasn’t bad, as there were cool views from this peak. I took a bearing and made a short easy walk to the true highpoint. On the decent, I hit steeps/tough woods.
