Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All unbridged crossings were fairly easy hops today.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Tunnel Brook had many blowdowns, most of them appear pretty old, as herd paths have formed around them. Also, the trail is very brushy in spots, particularly at both ends of the notch itself, and sections are eroded. Other than a couple of minor eroded sections, Benton in good shape, as is Beaver Brook. Asquam Ridge has some major erosion in the lower 1/3rd. Hurricane was decent in the eastern portion (up over the shoulder of Hurricane Mountain), and wet and eroded in the western reaches. Brushy in spots and occasional blowdowns.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one out with its people on Hurricane Trail, having a good time.
Bugs
Bugs: Not bad until the afternoon. Temperatures and winds kept them at bay early. All in all, not that bad for mid-July.

Comments
Comments: A big red-lining loop was on tap for today. Did not see anyone until I summited, then saw maybe a dozen others throughout the day. Cool and breezy in the morning, downright chilly on the summit itself, though the sun made it bearable. A warm afternoon, but still fairly comfortable. Low-hanging clouds limited views to Vermont and the Presidentials, but views were pretty crisp for this time of year. Mt. Blue herdpath is very easy to follow, as is the one for Mt. Jim. Not sure if Jim has a canister, but the notebook in Blue's was soaked... last entry from 7/5 as far as I could tell. Great day to be out and about!
