Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The Sawyer Pond Trail crosses the Swift River... and this must be forded. Water was up to the hem of our shorts :-)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Numerous blowdowns. But on these lesser used trails, they are generally "limbed" and the trunks left for trampers to cross over. There are a few new trees lying down on the trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Skipper found water up to about 2200', at the last brook crossing on the Brunel Trail. We had to carry water for him for the rest of the journey.
Bugs
Bugs: Oh yeah! Skeeters in the woods.... and clouds of deer flies along the one-mile section of logging road

Comments
Comments: While lightly used, the trails were generally easy to follow. At the junction where the Brunel Trail first intersected with the logging road, the sign is missing and there were no blazes...so we double checked the trail description to confirm that we needed to turn Right onto the road.

We had been to Tremont before... but the conditions were clearer today... and there is a breathtaking 180 degree view.... I had forgotten how lovely it was.
